- These historical markers located on Rathaus Schoeneberg mark the location, now known as John F. Kennedy Platz (Square) where Kennedy addressed a divided Berlin in 1963.
The markers translated to English read as follows:
- John F. Kennedy. 35th President of the United States of America spoke to the people of Berlin in the midday hour on this place the 26th of June 1963. Here the Berliners assembled the night of the 22nd of November 1963 to lament the assassinated statesmen. In gratitude and reverence they unveiled this plaque to the memory of their great friend on June 26, 1964.
- Together we shall save our planet, or together we shall perish in its flames. Save it we can--and save it we must--and then shall we earn the eternal thanks of mankind and, as peacemakers, the eternal blessing of God.
