Grover Cleveland was born on March 18, 1837 in Caldwell, New Jersey in the home of his parents. His father was a Presbyterian minister in Caldwell at the time and the house provided for the pastor was referred to as a manse. The original building is now part of the Grover Cleveland Birthplace State Historic Site. It is open to the public to visit.
