James Monroe was born on April 28, 1758 in Westmoreland County, Virginia in the home of his parents. The original structure no longer exists, but a replica of the home was recently constructed on the birthplace site. The site is now part of the James Monroe Birthplace Park & Museum and is open to the public to visit.
