Ulysses S. Grant was born on April 27, 1822 in Point Pleasant, Ohio in the home that his parents were renting. The original house was moved to various locations before returning to its original site in 1936. The site is owned by the State of Ohio (Ohio Historical Society) and is open to the public to visit.
